According to research by Bogdan Popa, professional historians have begun to turn their attention to the sporting phenomenon, more and more present in daily life. In addition, sports mean "practice these disciplines individual or team who were helpful to the person and the community."
It appears that the consumption of goods and leisure services has increased since the Central European countries joined the European Union.
A recent agreement signed by the Minister of Education research Youth, Cristian Adomnitei and other insitutions involved in sports, shows that Romania seek to popularize the sport. (www.gov-sport.ro)

When I ask : What do you know about sport in Romania?
People answer me that in Romania, people are playing different kind of sports. We are good at tennis (Simona Halep, Monica Niculescu, Horia Tecau), football (Steaua Bucharest), but also pool, volley-ball, poker or gymnastics. They think ordinary people are getting more and more into sports, no matter the type.
